Quick Start! Learn to Knit
One 2-hour session. Learn to cast on and do the knit stitch in this drop-in class. Bring or buy needles and yarn.

Cost: $30
Every Thursday, 6:00 to 8:00

 

Beginning Knitting
Three 2-hour sessions. Get started on your knitting career. Learn to cast on, knit and purl, and increase and decrease in this class for novice knitters. Bring or buy needles and yarn.

Cost: $75

Saturdays, March 3, 10 and 17, 1:00 to 3:00

Saturdays, April 28, May 5 and 12, 1:00 to 3:00

 

Continuing Knitting
Three 2-hour sessions. Take the next step in your knitting with the help of an instructor. This class is designed to get you moving forward and developing new skills. You choose your project and we will assist you along the way in a supportive group atmosphere.

Cost: $75

Learn to Knit for Kids (and Parents, Too)
One 1.5-hour session. Learn to knit and start an easy, fun project. Buy or bring supplies. Recommended for ages 8 and up.

Cost: $25 per person.

Market Bag
Two 2-hour sessions. Knit the Ilene Bag, a slouchy market bag with a wide, comfortable strap. A washable cotton or linen fiber will make the bag practical and easy to clean.

Easy Basic Hat
Two 2-hour sessions. Learn the basics of knitting a hat, including knitting in the round on circular needles and double-points and your choice of edgings. This is a great class for novices who already know how to knit. Buy or bring supplies (list provided at registration).

Lelia Mitts

Two 2-hour sessions.  These cute mitts by designer Cory Boberg make a great introduction to colorwork.

Saturdays, March 10 and 17, 10:30 to 12:30

 

Ishbel Shawl:

Two 2-hour sessions. Knit the popular Ishbel shawl by Ysolda Teague.  Learn about top-down shawl construction and how to knit lace, including reading charts.

Saturdays, March 24 and May 26, 1:00 to 3:00

 

Sweater Finishing
One 2-hour session. Learn how to sew side seams, shoulders and set in sleeves. Bring a sweater to assemble.

Cost: $30
Saturday, May 12, 3:30 to 5:30

 

Thrummed Slippers
Two 2-hour sessions. Learn how to make these fluffy and warm slippers using yarn and roving/unspun wool. You’ll learn how to make thrums and incorporate them into your knitting.

Sundays, January 21 and 18, 12:30 to 2:30

 

My First Socks
Three 2-hour sessions. Learn to knit in the round using traditional double-pointed needles, then turn the heel as you create your first sock. This is a great portable project — once you start, you’ll be hooked. Prerequisite: Must be able to knit and purl. Buy or bring supplies (list provided at registration).

Project Help

Get individual help with any knitting problem, or learn a new technique.

Cost: $10
Every Thursday, 6:00 to 8:00

 

 

Gramps KnitAlong:
Our fall knitalong kicks off Saturday January 27 from 4 to 6 pm. Join us as we cast on our projects. We’ll offer plenty of help plus refreshments and door prizes. If you can’t make the party, you’re welcome to knit along at your own pace and join us for other events.

Support session: Join us for socialization or to get help with your project. Saturday,March 3; 3:30 to 5:30

Finale Party: Bring your finished (or partly finished!) projects for show and tell. Enjoy refreshments and door prizes. Saturday, May 26 from 4:00 to 6:00.
