1535706_768148253212663_172748083_nWe’re happy to announce that as part of our 10th anniversary celebration, The Fiber Gallery is hosting its first retreat!
We’ll be heading to the Imperial Stock Ranch in Maupin, Ore., from October 24 to 27. The ranch is home to Imperial Yarn, one of our favorite yarn companies and also supplier of all the wool for Team USA’s winter Olympics sweaters. The ranch is a complete sheep-to-skein operation, one of only a few in the country.
But wait, there’s more! The retreat will also feature

  • A day of instruction by Bonne Marie Burns, designer of Chic Knits patterns
  • Eco-friendly bus transportation to and from Seattle
  • Accommodations and all meals at the Imperial River Company, a lodge on the banks of the scenic Deschutes River
  • A stop in Portland at fair-traded accessory supplier Lantern Moon
  • A wine and cheese reception the first evening
  • Shopping opportunities
  • A meeting with Imperial Yarn owners Dan and Jeanne Carver, who’ll show us their whole operation
  • A sheepdog herding demonstration
  • A boxed lunch for the journey home
  • Snacks, games and surprises
The retreat is limited to 22 participants. The cost is $900 for a shared room. Single rooms are available for an extra fee. We will arrange room shares for those coming solo.
