Enjoy Our Free Parking
Many of our customers don’t realize that the store has a parking area. The lot is behind the store, with the entrance off of 83rd Street, and it’s free. You can use any of the spots not marked for a specific business. If you’re taking a class or attending an event, you can also ignore the 2-hour parking limit: Our landlord is fine with our customers spending as long as they need at the...

The Fiber Gallery Is For Sale
Dear Customers and Friends: It is with very mixed emotions that I’m putting The Fiber Gallery up for sale. This business has been my baby, and for 12 years I’ve watched her grow and bloom. I will miss her terribly every day. However, babies grow up and parents move on to new phases of their lives. I will be 63 at the end of this year. The store’s lease will be up for renewal at the same time, so it seems a good time to make a transition. I’m...
Annual Hazel Knits Event
One of our most popular annual events returns this Saturday and Sunday, October 17 and 18, during our Hazel Knits trunk show and sale. Hundreds of skeins in a rainbow of hues will be featured, including one-of-a-kind colors not found elsewhere. You’re probably already a big fan of this Seattle-dyed yarn. If you’re not: What are you waiting for? These soft yarns dyed with deep, layered color are perfect for every project, and are fast gaining a national reputation. We carry a variety of weights, from worsted-weight Cadence to...
A Sweet Fall Knitalong
Start with a form-flattering open sweater, add a border that pops with interest, and you have the Fiber Gallery’s fall knitalong, the Sweet Root cardigan. The sweater was designed especially for us by up-and-coming designer Cory Ellen Boberg of indie.knits. A Northwest design deserves Northwest yarn, and so we paired it with Imperial Yarn’s delightful sport-weight Tracie Too. Like Imperial’s other yarns, Tracie Too is spun from the company’s own herd of Columbia sheep raised near the eastern slopes of Mount Hood. It’s light and springy and a delight...

Dyeing In The Street
Join us this Saturday, August 8, as we drag our dyepots out into the street and rustle up a few batches of hand-dyed yarn. If you’d like to try dyeing, dress for a mess and come anytime between noon and 5 p.m. Or just show up and watch. In addition to our demo, there will be tons going on all along Greenwood Avenue as part of the the annual Summer Streets celebration. The road will be closed from 65th to 87th streets and you can wander among concerts, performances,...
