What’s New

Books, Books, Books!

While we were busy over the holidays, a few new books landed in the store! Still is a collection of 21 classic patterns from perennial designer Kim Hargreaves. Stephen West has collaborated with local designer Cirilia Rose for his fifth book, Midgard. Speaking of Cirilia Rose, her own new book, Magpies, Homebodies and Nomads, is also here in the store. Other new (to us) publications: Jane Austen Knits, a compilation of several Interweave magazines of the same name. Reversible Scarves, a collection of attractive but easy scarves that look good on both sides. Crewel Intentions, a fun read and an updated take on traditional patterns for the embroidery enthusiast. The Stitch Encyclopedia of Crochet and The Stitch Encyclopedia of Knitting, a couple of nicely illustrated basic books translated from the Japanese...

Merger

Merger

Sometimes knitters find a pattern that they just have to knit over and over. At the Fiber Gallery, recently, that pattern is Merger, created originally to highlight the softly shifting shades of Rowan’s Colourspun yarn. Merger’s construction is simple. It’s a rectangle with merging stripes knit on the bias. So far we’ve knit in yarns in a sport-to-DK weight but we know it would work just as well in finer or bulkier yarns. Increase or decrease the number of stitches and stripe away! Merger is free in-store. Stop by and pick up a copy.

Greenwood Waltz

Greenwood Waltz

Our latest shop pattern is a new spin on an older pattern. Originally created for Kureyon Sock (now discontinued) this simple, top-down, triangular shawl has an easy-to-learn, easy-to-knit pattern. This new version uses Painted Sky and big needles so your work goes even faster. The pattern really shows off the marled, softly striping colors of Painted Sky. It takes just two skeins to create. Due to the lace three-three rhythm we’ve called it Greenwood Waltz. You can purchase the pattern at the shop or on...
